DSA Sports


Presbyterian High School provides players in Basketball, Table Tennis and Volleyball opportunities for a broad-based education through the development of character and the inculcation of knowledge and acquisition of skills to lead a healthy lifestyle. The Sports Excellence Programme also aims to groom the players into socially responsible pupils capable of serving and meeting the needs of the school and the community. The school deploys a team of committed teachers and engages certified coaches to develop the players’ potential and talents towards sports excellence.


The Presbyterian High School Volleyball Teams have performed well in both Zonal and National Inter schools Championships. The teams have managed to achieve top four placing in either the Zonal or National Inter schools championships consistently since the introduction of the sport in the school. 


The Presbyterian High School Basketball Teams have consistently attained top four places in the Boys’ Zonal and National Inter schools Championships. The players are given opportunities to participate in external competitions to sharpen their competitive skills. 

Table Tennis

The Presbyterian High School Table Tennis Teams participate actively in both individual and team competitions Zonal and National Inter schools Championships. The school provides platforms for the players to hone their skills, deepen their passion for the sports. 


Students should preferably have represented their primary schools in sports and games.


Students should preferably be at least 1.6 metres in height (For Volleyball & Basketball only) and be medically fit for sports and athletic trainings/activities.


Students should possess a positive attitude and a strong sense of commitment, as described by their primary school teachers and/or coaches.


Application forms will be available from 7 May 2018 onwards. You can download it from the school website, or obtain a hard copy from our school/general office from 8.30 am - 5.30 pm. Click here to download form.

Copies of the following documents are to be submitted together with the application form:
• Latest NAPFA test result
• Primary 5 Semester 1 & 2 and Primary 6 Semester 1 result slips
• CCA and/or achievement records
• Other supporting documents, e.g. testimonial from coaches/primary school teachers

Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.

Short-listed candidates will be informed to attend a selection trial at Presbyterian High School. 

Attendance is compulsory for shortlisted candidates.

The details:
Date: 7 July - 15 August 2018 (Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for trial)
Attire: School PE attire, bring along your water bottle

General Ability Test (GAT) and Higher Ability Selection Test (HAST) will not be included in our selection process.

1. Who can apply for DSA?
All Primary 6 students who meet the selection criteria.

2. How do I apply?
Application forms will be available from the School General Office and available for download from the PHS website. Submit the completed form together with the necessary documents by hand, or by post to Presbyterian High School before the application closing date.

3. How will I know the results of my application?
All applicants will be informed of the results of their application by post.

4. My child is not in a MOE school. What is the application procedure?
Any child not in MOE schools will require a letter issued by MOE HQ at the MOE Customer Service Centre. The letter contains a Registration Number, which he/she can use to apply for the DSA.
