Dear parents / guardians

With the end of the Circuit Breaker on 1 Jun 2020, we enter the phase of safe opening. 2 Jun 2020 marks the beginning of a brand new school term. This new term with new arrangements and routines will be a new normal for all of us.

We hope that this issue of Parent Kit will help you to understand Back to School arrangements better and how you can guide your children to adjust back to school.

We also ask for your support to keep our school and children safe, as you have done before the start of Full HBL. Pages 7 to 10 of the Parent Kit provides information on how you can do so.

At PHS, we are working behind the scenes to prepare our school to ensure the safety our students so that learning can continue when school re-opens. We look forward to welcoming our students back in school!

Thank you and keep safe!

Yours faithfully,

Letter to parents

Dear Parents / Guardians

Term 2 of this academic year has been a very different one from previous years because of the precautionary measures that have been put in place to contain Covid-19.  We thank God that PHS staff and students have been kept safe from Covid-19 and we continue to seek His protection. We have been on Full Home-Based Learning (FHBL) since the third week of this term on 8 Apr 2020 and last week MOE had announced that the school holidays will be brought forward to commence on 5 May 2020.

Please refer to the attached letter from the principal, on the adjustments that MOE and our school would be making in the light of these changes.

[Parent Kit] Part 4: Stay home, stay safe, stay curious!

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Thank you for standing by your teens and supporting the school through the HBL period!

With the upcoming holidays, your teens will be spending more time at home. This will be a wonderful opportunity for you to deepen your relationship with your teens and bond more as a family. By making small changes to what you say and do, you can relate better to your teenager, and equip them with the much needed support and positive attitude needed for life.

This issue of Parent Kit provides you with tips on how you can frame your conversations with your teenagers positively, and things you can do to guide your teenagers to become mentally and emotionally resilient. It also suggests ways in which your family (your teens included) can bond while showing care for each other.

Stay safe and keep healthy.

Thank you.

Mr Victor Owyong

Dear Parent of MOE FAS student,

The Government has provided a range of support to Singaporeans, including families with school-going children who are affected by the outbreak of COVID-19 and the resultant circuit breaker measures. During this circuit breaker period, MOE, with support from the Sayang Sayang Fund launched by the Community Foundation of Singapore, will extend meal subsidies to your child/ward regardless of whether he/she returns to school during full HBL. MOE will disburse the school meal subsidies via two top-ups to eligible students’ School Smartcard. Each child/ward will receive a total of $120. The School Smartcard can be used to purchase food and essential groceries at selected hawker centres, food courts, minimarts, convenience stores and supermarkets as listed in the following URLs:

Your child/ward can redeem the extended meal subsidies at any Transit Link Add Value Machine once every two weeks, starting from 14 April 2020.  The locations of  Transit Link Add Value Machines can be found at this URL,
